Stopped and parked in the channel so that my adult daughter could visit with some friends for a few minutes. They had rented the Trump toon thing that gets towed and parked in the channel for the day. It was late and they were all pretty done by the time we showed up.

I parked next to a bad ass center console. Twin engine, looked like the side panels might fold down. Built in BIG Speakers everywhere. Basically facing all directions but inside the boat. It was loud as hell. Probably why no one was parked next to them.

I got out and walked to the other side to sit on a park bench. The guy on the other side saw me looking at the boat (half million plus boat easy). We both have regular 20 plus year old getto boats. I could barely hear him. But he was commenting on how nice the center console was. I agreed, he then proceeds to tell me the guy is the nicest person you’d ever meet. I’m like yeah okay.

I’m thinking to myself what kind of nice person would sit in an open public family area. Then blast the most obnoxious and obscene rap music around kids and families. Needless to say I wasn’t really as impressed as the other guy. lol…

Found a nice quiet cove to finish out the day.

I guess I'm a prude, a true stay off my lawn kind of post middle age...but not quite "old". The smell of weed and blaring tribal music bothers me...either circus or rap. The sad thing, I appreciate a loud stereo, but I never wanted my kids to learn French at a beach, or have to explain skunks.

Never made a fuss, just pack up and find some more sand someplace else. Kids are older now...but I still hate skunk. Vape some loaded stuff that smells like cookies or something 🤣

DOCKTAGON 2025!! 👀

If I beach in the channel on a weekend, that’s exactly what I expect. It never seems to be like county or even classic or hard rock. Always bass thumping rap or house music. Gives me too much anxiety so we usually bail and find somewhere better. 😂

I agree but not looking for any government intervention. If it's too much for me I move on.
X1000 - no need for regulations

I’m just not sure what the point is. Is it the look at me mentality? Or no one will park within 50’ of me because my stereo is so loud?
Hard to tell but I love cruising with open headers by myself down the channel. I do not want anyone telling me otherwise. My boys said to me why is it cool that the chassis (in your avatar) is twisting and they can smell the exhaust header leak from their desk... J/K but cool is always relative.

Can’t expect to go to the shit show and no drama. Find another lawn.

Kind of the deal and will always be that way.

Its like the single old guy on a boat with speakers facing everywhere and blasting music all alone

I feel embarrassed for him. Its very odd behavior.

After spending my life going to car shows with my dad, cruises long before cars and coffee hit Instagram. I can assure you the shit we think is awesome will be either lame or incredibly cost prohibitive in 15 to 20 years. I joke with my dad no one is going to want his and his buddies hot rods...

If the City of Lake Havasu piped in the music, and controlled the content and volume, The Channel would be different. 🤔

… We bailed on Parker probably 1966 or 1967 because it started getting so crowded… our destination pretty much from then on was Pine Flat… Where there was plenty of coves… if we had set up day camp in a cove and people, we didn’t know decided to set up in the same cove… We didn’t mean to be rude or unfriendly… We just liked to hang with our own bunch…so we just picked up and moved to another cove… it was very simple…

It is a Luxe Chasetoon / Tritoon. The stereo is amazing and he uses the hell out of it. I actually like his music 90% of the time and no matter how loud he turns it up it sounds clean. No thuds, raddles, or cracking at all.

Is this the dark grey pontoon (Luxe) CC? Big dude that owns it. Stereos loud and seems everyone comments on the guy. Buddy met him and partied with him last month at the turtle said he was super cool. Has a DCB or MTI as well I believe.

That's where I'm sort of conflicted. I like hearing a good, clean system....but not for hours on end.

As always though, the Channel for me is like a car show, or a circus. Sights, sounds, smells and experience...then head off somewhere else. Same with Pirate's, neat to float through, but the river is right over there, and that's where I'd rather be.
To each their own. Ballers, lowbucks both boomers with stereos and boomers with classic boats...it's all pretty damn cool.

The stereo in that Luxe absolutely RIPS!!! The Westman toon is louder, but the Luxe is no slouch!!

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I like to cruise the channel or pirates and check out the shit show. Maybe every great once in a while beach for a little bit. But usually limit our time in the mix as it’s cool but gotta be in small doses for us.

We were having a pizza at Papa Leone’s, and that luxe was in the channel going under the bridge. It sounded like the music was from a speaker on my table. Impressively loud, but I guess I don’t see the need for something like that.

We boated 30+ days last year and we maybe drove through the channel 2x and never beached. This year we launched Jan 1st and were cruising around the island when I needed to pee. No way I was jumping in so I beached by at the bathrooms by the dog park. It looked clear but it "Sand" was like concrete. Never again.

Wife and I do take the dogs to the dog park a few times a week and walk the island side of the channel almost every time. The shit show is fun but only for 15-30 minutes max.

On our walk this Saturday, when we saw the Luxe Tritoon, we saw a fight and one girl puking. Good times.

Yeah, that’s the boat. Was a toon now that I’m thinking about it. It had black toons. Not sure if it would be considered a center console but was that style layout on deck.

Just watched RD’s review of the Luxe toon. Pretty cool how the sides drop down.
I did like the boat. Really like the seats and material used on the interior. Not sure how practical the layout would be. Seemed kind of tight around the sides of the console area with the wing doors up.

If the music playing wasn’t trash and so loud I probably could have appreciated the sound system as well.

I guess I just don’t get why you would be partying on the boat. Then have no less than ten speakers outside the boat blasting sound away from the boat in all directions. lol…

We were in the channel yesterday and the boat next to us was having it out ( loud music) with a toon on the other side!! … My wife thought maybe we should move down a bit … until the boat on our side starting playing Hells Bells! … she loves that song!… mainly from the SD Padres days!!
Then she said we’re not going anywhere! …. lol!

If I stay in the channel for very long my brain turns to jelly from 8 LAM stereos at 💯 playing 8 different songs/genres.
My buddies are all DJ's and they have same problem, they are so used to beat matching from each ear that they go insane. I feel same way also.

when I redid my boat I didn't even put a stereo in it. its wired, but I didn't see the need. when we are running you can't hear it, and when we park somewhere there is 15 other boats that have music playing. so I suppose I saved myself 10k hahaha

Music in the Channel - Years ago, on weekdays, there were a couple of old guys who would show up with their ladies, beach their classic Campbell and turn on their stereo. It sounded like a very high quality sound system. Crystal clear, full, but not obtrusive. Their music of choice? Frank Sinatra with Count Basie’s Big Band. It would fill the channel. When the music stopped some would even yell out for more.

Same place, just different times.

Ditto, when my nordic was built I only wanted a bone-stock stereo for exactly those reasons. If we're on our own beach alone my stock stereo performs just fine.
It cracked me up how Thane & John were literally flabergasted I didn't want an eardrum penetrator system.😂😂

I had competition stereos growing up in all my cars. I now have tenitus. Good times👎
I wince just thinking of being on that thing with the volume at full send 😳

Our current boat has a decent stereo. Actually it was put in by the old owner and it’s all German Marstro components. High end Focal / MB Quart clarity. But like you said the dry exhaust, it has to be blaring when we’re running to hear and frankly, I want to hear the engines and listen for any issues. My kids always turning the stereo up when we’re running and I reach over and turn it down. lol. I’m
Too old for stereo wars. If someone has their music blaring I turn mine off. If no one has music on I turn ours on just loud enough we can hear it while chillin in the beach or bow. Background music. Not a fuckin concert in the front row. 🤦‍♂️😂

True story : was parked next to a Cat with a way bigger stereo than mine , I ejected my mp3 disc with about 4-5 Doobie Bro’s CD’s on it and asked him to play it through his system cranked up . Asked to start with Neal’s Fandango , arguably one of the best Doobies song ever , anyway , after about close to an hour he turned it off and brought it over and said that was some really good music , who was it ? Told Doobie Bros , he said , oh yea , my Dad used to listen to them … Ha Ha !

im in the telecom/wireless space and have been kicking around an idea with some of the engineers I work with for a blue tooth hacker where it puts my music on everyone's stereo in an x meter radius.

was a great idea until I read up that if you get caught doing that you are royally fucked and in serious trouble....

It's promoted. I went into the kicker semi at Super Cat fest, and had to walk out before my head exploded.

For sure agree. I was old before I was old and never understood this. I agree I don't want government or regulations on it, it's a free country and I'll just go somewhere else, but i just understand the mentality of it. Your music is your music and can be heard at a reasonably level around your boat, I don't need to hear it a half mile away. Plus not being able to even have a conversation on your own boat just confuses me.

But everyone is different.

Some one should out fit their pontoon with couple of huge amps, powered by a portable generator, fit some concert speakers....think AC/DC or the Crew. Put on some music like from Apocalypse Now when the helicopters are coming in. Crank the volume so the vibrations create actual little waves in the channel water. Sit back and enjoy. 😁😁

…Who will be the first pontoon owner with a kick ass sound system to completely lose his hearing or most of it anyway… reference some of the old rock ‘n’ roll musicians… who now spend a lot of time going… What did you say😳🤷🏽‍♀️

Speaking of old people and noise. Was at three dunes playing with my RC boat and old timer didn’t like it. 😒
Many, if not most, RC boats, planes and cars are now electric. Noise is not an issue. Might there have been something else about your RC operation he didn’t like?

Pretty basic imo. Electric and ripping it back and forth? Maybe my kids was loud? Regardless I just packed it up to make him happy.
