Had never heard of them but they just blew me and everybody at the Grange Hall away…

I find that I enjoy most music, not super into the punk thing, but, there are some good punk songs.

I’m guilty as well. I haven’t been through all 105 pages here.

They were sick. Had a great time with all the other 50somethings. Got a nice fucking bruise from the pit.

Crazy chick night!

Featured here, Eric Roberts.

Oops, I meant Patti Smith...

I dig the U2 cover of this song, but she rocks it too.

next up...Maria McKee. You guys remember her from Lone Justice in the 80's...Ways to be wicked, Sweet Sweet baby...?

She's got some pipes.

Or you may recognize the song from Pulp Fiction.

Johnette Napolitano from Concrete Blonde.

I started working on downtown LA in 1988. Back then, Fed Ex was still new on the scene and there was no fax machine (yet) and the Internet was still a ways off. So I hoofed it a lot, picking up documents to file at the court and to serve on litigants. I did a lot of walking!

Anyhow, one day I was at Figueroa and 9th and looked down at the street, and there on the sidewalk, was "Concrete Blonde" painted artistically in black. They must have shot a vid there.

She lives out at Joshua Tree or something like that...

Hardcore song about the right to die.

Can't mention cray-cray without inviting Sinead to the party. Her first two records were brilliant. If my house was on fire and I could only grab 10 records - 2 of them would be from her. Sadly, Sinead's 17-year old son just took himself out... :(

I remember watching the Grammy's and saw Sinead and I was blown away. Anarchy drawn on her shaved head, mid-rift exposed in jeans with Doc Martens. and a tucked in onezie from her newborn. I bought Lion and the Cobra the next day. Never done that before.

I didn't know it until years later, but she was penciled in for the Grammy performance at the last minute. No rehearsal, no script, no dance routine, nodda. It was a dub-over, but she was fearless and jumped on the opportunity.

This one was written about her ex-husband and longtime drummer in the band.
