I'm thinking that was a race boat and was setup for reliability and consistency. I'd venture to guess 130-140 max. Couldn't find it on google.

Haha found it. I think.

Fountain, along with throttleman Tres Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., started the day at the wheel of "INXS," a 47' triple engine V-bottom with passes of 128.338 mph and 127.898 for a combined two-way average of 128.118 mph. The mark was good enough to break the former Super V-bottom world record of 126.382 mph established on Oct. 7, 1993, by Alan Pariser in the 43' Wellcraft Scarab "Gentry Eagle."

This thing sounds amazing!!!! Im pretty sure fountain broke the Super V-Bottom World Record again with a 42 with 171.88mph. Then a 43 Outerlimits came in with twin 1650's and was averaged at 174.938. They claimed the boat made a one way pass at 180.47 during testing. Reggie Fountain's record of 10 years is broken and not by a Fountain. His former employee was behind the wheel for multiple records and all of the action took place in front of his house. "I'm glad they got it," were the first words Reggie expressed regarding the event. He went on to say, "If I had to buy a vee-bottom today, I would buy it from Mike Fiore." "Mike and his crew did a good job of setting the boat up. Mercury Racing did a good job with the engines. I have nothing but kind words and high compliments for Mike Fiore, Mercury Racing, Brian Forehand, Joe Sgro and Doc Janssen," Reggie concluded. Mike called back saying he had to read it three or four times. He was humbled by Reggie's kind comments..

I'm curious to know how fast it would run with the same motors, but twins.

I bet there a point of diminishing returns...

Id like to see it run as equipped on the Salton Sea.Between the high buoyancy of the extra salt and the dense air of below sea level it's about as fast of water as one can find.
