Pretty good reaction video here to the original Chupacabra comparison. These guys both own Pro Rs, have a Speed car in order, and have a track at their disposal.

I agree with them that for cruising around in the chop (Havasu) comfortably… this will be THE car to have.

Also note that early owners are satisfied with the car and Speed’s commitment to refining the product. This is an experience that an early owner would never get with another mfg. They are literally addressing every concern.

Lol early owners! You me guinea pigs! Testers!
This car is still pre production don’t kid yourself.

But it’s turning into a bad Ass car no doubt. And I’ll still gladly pay more in 3yrs to not be a tester.

If the guinea pigs are happy with the product and experience so far, that is all the proof needed.

You forgot the $20k discount on the product for their troubles 😂.

The fact is they are addressing every shortcoming reported, are they not?

Let’s not kid ourselves…

Polaris takes months to fix problems, if they address them at all that model year.

Yeah I’m sure they’re having fun but 20k savings on something that you get to use 100miles at a time doesn’t sound like family fun to me.

I didn’t bring up other manufacturers but since you did were at 1000 miles trouble free and just got a check back from Polaris putting us well below what a speed car cost now. Basically covering the small upgrades we’ve made and a little leftover for future mods or repairs.

Actually this is quite the experience . Where else can you get in on the ground floor of something this big and be such a big part of Speeds development . I really enjoy watching all this progress .

You have a Turbo S, no? that is a past generation car, it should be cheaper than a Speed.

Obviously these are UTV owners that do more than 100 miles at a time. This is a niche UTV for the performance oriented owner. But you already knew that :)

Exactly. All the owners know what they signed up for and seem to be enjoying it.

I’m not trying to make comparisons just talking about the speed program you brought up Polaris.

When do you expect yours? I ask because theres a few of us planning another CK ride when it cools off some. @Bowtiepower00 wants to include running into Prescott to spend the night. I've been planning a little known run that I use as a training ride for my adventure racing. From CK down the frontside to Cordes station, then cross the I-17 on Bloddy Basin Road. Go all the way to Sheeps Bridge on the Verde River, then cross the river and drive to Horseshoe Lake, cross the river again and exit on Bartlett Lake Road.

If the Verde river is too high to cross, we can run down Seven Springs road into Carefree/Cave Creek.

I'll start looking at dates. Could be a two or even three day trip.

He Steve, that sounds like a neat ride. Can I only go if I have it? 😀 I still have my Turbo RZR. I actually just got my new front shocks finished for it this week. Still very impressed with that car. I’m considering putting 33”s on it. It has 32” tires now.

With things as they are maybe September I’ll get it which would be pretty nice. They are changing a few small things on the existing builds, that’s why we have not seen them quite yet.

When these do start moving overseas with no more tweaks, we should see a steady stream of cars. Im happy the current 35 owners are giving lots of feedback and they are listening.

Of course not!! It would just be a great chance for me to see how the Speed car does in real world use, (My world)

I'll upgrade probably next year, just want to see all my choices in use first.

Yea it will be neat to see what Can Am comes out with here soon, and how the final Speed car configuration shakes out.

I still think the Speed will be the best (most comfortable) car for Havasu. I can’t see a radius rod car being as good in the rough, but that is the fun part to find out.

When I get mine I’d like to do my own comparison video with my group in Havasu to give people a sense of how it stacks up against their current modified RZR or Can Am.

Sounds like fun, let me know if you want a Turbo R in the mix.

I think we do.. Thinking 4 seaters - Turbo S, Turbo R, Pro R, Can Am x3 XRS and my Turbo RZR. Basically known, well sorted cars.

Question is - You have a newer built/modified car. Is a turn key Speed Car good enough to make a change from your current ride?

What are the differences in ride, speed, handling, comfort and usability in a high pace, point to point desert recreation setting?

We would hit varying terrain - high speed washes, chatter/washboards, whoops, slow and high speed technical trails.

Just for giggles, you should put in a stock, 2014-2016 vintage XP4 1000. Point being, since none of us are "real race car drivers" are they still good enough? You can literally buy 4 of them for the price of one Speed, Pro R etc.

Sure. My car is pretty much that, just the Turbo version of that same 1000 car but we can try to get a 1000 as well.

My guess is yes, they are still acceptable with the right mods and shock work at speeds below 50 MPH. You don’t need a $50k+ car to go have fun in the dirt, and you’ll be able to mostly hang with your friends with big money cars up to 55 MPH or so in a XP1000. You can probably move that up to 65-70 MPH in a Turbo.

The big question for most regular Havasu folks is how is the Speed car over chatter and small whoops?

Ride comfort and stability is going to be a huge factor in sales if the Speed car is deemed to be the “best” in the chatter at 30-50 MPH.. regardless of anything else.

I think the size of the speed car is going to remove it as an option for a lot of people with toyhaulers.

I considered one- and almost put a deposit down 18 months ago- but now that I’ve seen the specs, there is no way I could fit it in my hauler. I have to lift and strap my R to make it fit, I only have 73” between cabinets.

Price is not as big of an issue, imo, if the car is turn key. Hopefully the bugs get worked out and the car delivers on the promises.

I’m looking forward to seeing these in the wild, and I wish nothing but the best to Robby and those who have purchased one.

I don't have the toy hauler limitation you do. When I replace mine, I just want to make the best decision, regardless what the name is.

Yes. And The body of the Speed car is as wide as a 64” UTV 😬. I don’t have the toyhauler limitation, but my enclosed is 80” between the fenders, so it will be tight.

I’ve been saying for a long while if it does not meet my expectations I’ll sell it and get a Turbo R.

Went into the Speed center yesterday and spoke to a couple folks there. Most of the misinformation from all the experts in the other thread is amusing.

Quite a few cars ready for delivery or being prepared for delivery there.

Most of the accessories are available for people to touch and look at. The windshields are super nice. Storage containers look really good as well. Bumpers are also really nice pieces. All this stuff is as good or better than anything in the aftermarket industry.

Their lights seem OK, I haven’t seen them in person at night, but for the price I’d go with a known like Baja Designs.

It’s getting close to go time.

They gave me another window.. pick a date.. maybe I can win my $$ back 🤣.

FWIW I’m glad they held back and are applying fixes and lessons learned to the current batch of cars. Especially because few would really be using their cars now.

Have you had a chance to check out Nick’s yet?

I’m still excited for the car and really want to go for a rally….

but
at the same time ….
I think we have been here before!!

it would be great if they had 150 / 200 cars at Sancho and had a big delivery party….

That would make a huge statement to the public - We are here!

however
if they have another issue w/ all Those cars out in the wild…..

They can’t deliver anything at the Sancho. No one can unfortunately.

That said, there will be new cars there.. just like there were the last couple years when experts told us it would be impossible.

The version of the Speed car today is the car all of us buyers wanted and has the highest probability for success.

The question is if we will be able to crawl all over a new Can Am? Or will it be behind a velvet rope? None of the Can Am guys even know what they are getting!

Either way, I hope it’s there.

Same feeling you get when your RZR has another stop ride and you still have to make the payment 😂.

People are getting their cars…believe it or don’t. We were told this would never happen.

Sometimes I question your sensibility then I remember your current car is a Polaris. Then I really question it!

Like you, I’m used to being let down by Polaris. It makes buying a Speed car an easy decision.

Hastings Speed Center is going to be getting busier. New prep facility was procured by the Speed team in Anaheim (Old MB dealer on the 91) They have been shopping for a facility since last year. Glad they found one that will fit their needs.

Where oh where will they do all the PDI? They can’t do them in Havasu! 🤣

Deep into the 4 digits with the 72” wide, short wheelbase 2 seaters… I see some 2xxx or 3xxx numbers in there.

Wonder where the tires wheels are made?

any word on spare parts? Or a parts Department?

now that cars are on the way they need parts inventory on hand…
