How does everyone carry a spare jug/quart of oil? Tired of not having a dedicated, upright, spot for it to go. Don't want to put it in a bungee pouch because they stretch out and I think that looks bad. Having a hard time finding something online that I can hard mount.

The rectangle, squeeze type phone holders with 4 fingers, will hold a single quart container. The gallon and 5qt jugs are kind of a pain, because there are different shapes.

If we are being 100% honest, I don’t carry any oils and very minimal tools.. all that shit is supposed to happen when it’s on the trailer. 😳

If I have problems I’ll get it back on the trailer and to my shop or a shop to fix.

All 4 oils I put in there 3 seasons ago are still sealed so I guess I’m carrying extra weight at this point.

By friend makes these, along with some other really trick carbon fiber pieces.

You could also go the aluminum route, like mentioned above.

This.....

Also no repairs on any of the cars/trucks right before a trip. (Two weeks or more) Last thing I need is something I touched failing because I missed something.

I use a plastic tote stuffed with rags. Under the hatch. If it spills or leaks the rags clean it up. Also have a funnel in there too

We have milk crate in the engine compartment. It does its job of holding everything in, but we haven’t had the need to use any of the oils. Last year, we did use a can of starting fluid to get the boat to the dock. But, that’s about it.

What if you have your boat in a slip for a week and are using it and need to top off the oil? Pretty regular thing for the average boater to do - check his oil daily while using the boat? Lol

I can honestly say I’ve haven’t checked the oil on the water in a long long time..

However if I felt the inclination to do so.. I’d goto the marina bathroom grab some paper towels and check it. If I needed oil I’d go to the marina store and buy some.. and then I’d be wondering all day “where the fuck did the oil go?”

I had one boat that used some oil way back in the day.. I’d make sure it was full when it was on the trailer.

I carry a small milk crate in the engine hatch area, 1 Gallon of engine oil, quart of outdrive oil, quart of trim pump oil, spare fuses, water muffs and a can of WD40 to dry out any elec if it gets wet. Its normally never me that needs it. It gets used on others that dont do enough maintenance. I added the fuses last year after blowing the fuse for the hatch on the launch ramp in Needles. Luckily boat next to me had a spare. Now I carry plenty to pay forward as needed.
