Angelina's has a great steak along with everything else they do

Couple of months ago we went three nights in a row to Angelina's,(don't ask me why) on the third night I had steak, it was pretty damn good.

Best steak I've had in Havasu are the ones I get at Costco and bring with me to the lake.

Prime Center Cut ribeyes from Costco and then I trim all the silverskin off the sides, fresh ground pepper and Kosher salt
Other wise Chabones or Shugrues. Shugrues has the best seared ahi I've had in LHC. Very consistent and tasty

I've tried it a few times. If on the weekend it seems they prepare all the fancy stuff in the bar, had a Ribeye and salad, was great. First time was great, second time was surf and turn deal night, I was disappointed.

Sounds like we had a bad experience at Foundry - went there last weekend, 4 of us all had steak, it was average at best. Might have to give it another chance.

Steak was WAY over cooked and about the same quality of meat as I can get at staters. They also got both of my sides wrong.

I tried them again at DS and had a decent patty melt. But all in all, I should have just went to in-n-out.

COLLEGE STREET BREWERY…. My three favorite menu items.. This steak, jambalaya and fish and chips. The steak literally melts in your mouth. Full of flavor!!! I have not tried the other steaks yet. I ordered medium… cooked perfect.

I used to like that program for breakfast....there was a place in Manhattan Beach called O'Shea's back in the day all set up like that. Fill a bowl, hand it to the guy and tell him how many eggs and he'd make you an omelett.

We went there just before Christmas. Waited an hour for food and the order was wrong. Ran to Home Depot to get what I needed and came back as the corrected orders were being finished up. On top of that grandpa broke his hip as soon as we got home. Between the two events, I won’t be back.

This sounds like fun. I don’t think I can commit to every Wednesday because I don’t have the unimaginable wealth that some do but I will try and make as many runs as the budget allows.

That steak looks done just the way I like it, medium-medium+ . Done on the outside with a nice sear and still has a little pink racing stripe down the center !!
Most places have trouble trying to get that right and end up overshooting the mark. With a ribeye you can get away with being slightly overdone but other leaner cuts will turn into leather if they are left on the grill for 30 seconds to long.

You were with us when we went to foundry the first time. lol The clam chowder was horrible, my wife and I both sent them back. The entree, which I can’t remember what it was, was even worse. Edit, my wife said it was an Ahi salad and the fish smelled rotten. Hammer was there too. You being friends with the owner doesn’t make it good.

You eat burritos from Filiberto’s daily. I don’t find you a connoisseur of food anyhow and don’t have the same taste as you. You also put miracle whip on your tacos which is disgusting. I’ve watched you scarf chili cheese fries at the bar and proclaim your love for them. lol

Same thing happened last time at Mario's at the bar. A roach crawled out of the bread basket....then at El Paraiso bar, roach crawled from under the bar top onto my arm then tried to go up my shorts. Lots of roaches in this town.

Do it like we do the annual Havasu St. Patties day pub crawl and Corned beef & Cabbage ratings. Find 4-5 places, Order up enough to feed the group for just a taste at each location. (Sharing the plates) Each person have a score card rating the following items 1-5, service, main dish, sides OR whatever else you want. Add them all up and compare the scores. This allows you to hit more spots and have score cards. We even post up the results on line of the winners each year. Good times.

Truth!!

You’re never gonna get super high quality food out there. Same with where we live frankly. Unless you’re in a big city eating gourmet or straight up sticks eating down home food, food most places is usually just ok. Doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy Chabones, shoguns, Caroline’s, Montanas (which I think are all way too pricey for what they are) but let’s face it, none of it leaves me craving. When we’re out there it’s like, which place will be least crowded and suck the least. Lol

Only place in Havasu that was consistently good. Was Borns Best for a roast beef and turkey sandwich.

I only ate at Bobballoo once so need to try it a few more times to really judge.

I am definitely spoiled on good food local to me. I was eating out for Dinner 20 times a month for a few years.
