Forced to sell our rare 1995 Eliminator 207 Ski Tunnel. Boat is in excellent condition. Yamaha 225 with new lower unit. Boat is sitting on a clean, tandem axle Competitive trailer. Hull, upholstery, etc. are very clean. Nice bimini, stereo, large swim steps, etc. Includes custom towable cover. This tunnel type bottom model is very difficult to find and rarely for sale. Boat has been amazing. Runs and handles great. Forced to sell. Will consider trade with partial cash but cash is king. $Priced to sell.....need the room. First $13,500 takes it.

Feel free to contact with any questions, trade offers/ideas, etc. Willing to consider items of equal value or trade items with cash. Feel free to ask .......................619-403-0987

That boat has been for sale for over a year. Not sure why, seems clean and I think a pretty rare hull being the skier with tunnel. I am sure it rides good and scoots along pretty good. Easy 70+ MPH boat.

Looks like a nice boat. I think that Yamaha is a big reason why it hasn't sold. Not saying there is anything wrong with the Yamaha but for that kind of boat most would expect/like to see a Merc or OMC on it.

I was thinking about this boat while looking for a 22 tunnel hull. Nice boat. I have no issues with a yamaha O/B. They are solid

I have seen it on craigslist for a year or so and I want to say a couple of times he had it up for $10k this weekend only........I almost wanted to go look at it but it keeps popping up for sale again. Might not be as clean as it looks or he says.

Seems like a good buy to me...perhaps the condition isn't as good as the pic?

Is this your idea of moderating?:rolleyes
:cool

The only reason I mention the Yamaha part is that if it stays local to the Lower River, the local mechanic won't work on it. Then again, those Yamahas are supposed to run well, so maybe that's not a concern for someone. I Should have clarified above.

I know, but then I relized that my response looked mean when I didn't intend it to be.

The mechanic is an Evinrude/Merc guy. He says he doesn't order/get parts for Yamaha, etc. A few years ago, when we were shopping for boats, we talked to him and he said they're solid motors, but he wouldn't work on it which killed it for us. It's nice to be able to not have to tow it home from the river for a small repair (water pump, etc) here and there.

I didn't see it as mean,I chuckled a little.
Is he the only mechanic in the area?
Must be nice to be in the boat buisness and have so much to do you can choose to not take in work.
If he is the only mechanic in the area he shouldn't be too surprised when one day soon he isn't the only one in the area. ;)

I know "he" replaced your impeller recently, but believe me, if anything goes wrong with your engine that requires it being hooked up to diagnostics, he ain't going to touch it. You don't really want him to anyway. You did hear that Paul waited almost 3 months for parts for his Evinrude through him?

Sorry, I just have a past history (old boat back in the early 90's) with him when he was in SD....... :thumbsdown

Thanks John. I know what he's all about and have heard some interesting stories too. He did rebuild our Evinrude on the pontoon (and did a great job). He's worked on every boat we've ever owned, for one thing or another and has always done good work. That said, for anything more than a routine water pump (or the like) replacement, we have a Certified Merc mechanic here in Phoenix that I trust implicitly. Bil knows his stuff, but for anything more than a simple part replacement, we go to our guy in Phx. That's why we bring it home every winter - for the yearly service....

By the way... if Paul wants anything done quickly, he needs to show up in a bikini with freshly baked cookies.......... it works. Lol.

Yah, I was desperate to get our boat back.

Ive had multiples of all 3 brands. The Yamaha's I've had have always been the most consistent & reliable. Had a 150 for years, probably put on a couple hundred hrs & the only part I replaced was a check ball for the oil tank. I know they are lesser known for o/b than merc & omc, but think anyone interested in the hull would do a little research on the yami & not be discouraged.

How do the Tunnels run?

RD

I had that same hull on my Eliminator, with a closed bow and a Evinrude 225 with power steering. As an all around boat it ran great. Maybe not as fast with the same HP as some of the best tunnels, like an STV or a Stoker. If memory serves, with the 23 pitch "ski" prop I could get into the low 70's, and with a 27 mid 80's. The rough water performance AMAZED people. We lived on Green Bay at the time, which is big water. Passengers would see 1'-2' foot water (which isn't too bad for the bay) and expect their kidneys were going fall out because the freeboard was so low. But once some air started packing under it we could literally fly past deeper 20 foot v-hulls. If the water got bigger than 2' it could get pretty rowdy, especially if there was shipping traffic, but that's what life jackets and tether cords are for. Made almost zero wake at slalom ski speeds.

I have a friend with that exact Yamaha on a Hydrodyne ski boat. 1800+ engine hours and still going strong.

Again, never said anything bad about the Yami's. Just saying that having a Yamaha on there will decrease the perspective buyer pool a good bit. There aren't too many that are looking for a Mod VP anyways and you add in that it has a Yamaha and you are down to probably a couple perspective buyers.

Personally it's a large negative to me but that's just because I haven gotten to be very familiar with my 2.4L Merc and it has been 100% reliable.
