IHBA Lakefest at Firebird

Anyone heading out to Firebird Raceway this weekend to watch the IHBA boat races?

One ticket gets you into the boat races and into the monster truck races later that night.

Damn,, if I didn't have my kid coming into Page this weekend I'd be there. I am actually working about a mile north of there on the Wild Horse Pass casino project. Looks like this means I will be making it to a few other events.

Looks like a light weekend of racing, as my class runs two heats on Saturday (practice then qualifier) with our main race on Sunday at the end of the day. I'll be watching boats otherwise

It was great to finally meet you RicheyRich but sorry you had to go and didn't get to visit long. Thurs. I picked up some stuff from Bergeron Marine for Problem Child (PC:hmm) TFH and wound up running a part back to Dave Sharp in the pits. I spent all day Fri :beer w/ Rocket98 at the lovnlifes toterhome, PhotoChic was there Thurs in the pits and at LVNLIFES Sat / Sun. SomekindaMonster, Spitter +1, and Guru were there too I enjoyed dinner w/ Eddie P., Darrin, and Kebin K. of Bad Habit TAH on Thurs and Sushi Sun.

I'm sorry I missed meeting SloVolvo. It became an ordeal (security)moving around the track throughout the weekend:smackhead. Dinner Sun was last minute decision to go since I was already home in Q.C. when I heard a group was possible going to go.

Problem Childs new boat and Centurion Boats hauler is awesome. They had the biggest awning in the pits:hmm
J. Silvey got his first win :thumbsup in TFH, beating Speed Sport Special in a very close 200+ MPH final.

No worries Rob, we'll meet up soon. Race weekends are always hectic, there was a lot going on down there. I ended up taking 4th with a broken shock mount; I had to run half of the final with a coilover flapping around. shock setup was wrong, back to the drawing board.

I did get to watch the finals from the grandstands last night, and it was awesome!! Those boats just flat out haul the mail. I can't imagine going over 200 mph at the 660 mark!

It was a great weekend. I owe thanks to so many people. First thank you Frank and Tanya for letting we watch, learn, and hang with your crew. I wish there was something I could have done to help, but I felt like I was getting in the way. You guys were all most awesome and it was a pleasure wearing your shirt and watching you race!

TAF - You and your son were great to me too. It was nice hanging out with you as a spectator instead of trying to catch a few words with you in between working on boats. Also thanks for the place to stay, food, and drinks! I can't say enough, you're awesome Rob!

The Lovinlife's - Always a pleasure to see you guys out there! Thank you again for the great hospitality, company, drinks, and everything you do! The races wouldn't be the same without you guys!

Tony Lotta scars... I mean Scarlota - Great to see you at the races. You're lookin good buddy. I'm glad to see the crash didn't hurt your sense of humor any I can't wait to see you in a boat again!

It was great to see everyone! Good hangin with 396 too. I saw him walking out the gate with a table on his back.. I think someone got pictures (pic chic?).

The plan as of now is to race my boat at the finals. Fingers crossed and lots of work and we'll see what happens. Word on the street is Dragster19 might race too??? Maybe I'll even be good enough that I'll have a shirt for you to wear Frank
