They did steal Mikes boat and probably most of all the other boat related thefts going on up and down the river. They should hang that Randy Letcher by his balls. I would say 20 counts of theft is proof enough to trash his name. It's a black eye to Havasu just having that POS located in our town!!!!!

Some people will post in this thread that he's a stand up guy and is getting a bad rap.

A half million dollars worth is stolen parts, boats, trailers and a fifth wheel gives you a bad rap. I hope he gets butt raped by a large inmate over and over and over... POS thief!

Pretty self explanatory

Stolen boat story........

Friend of mine at McIntrye Park got his boat stolen. Was found outside Needels in the desert stripped. He hit the internet hard. Long story short, he found all his stuff at a shop in Havasu. Jet Boats Plus.

Owner of shop said he did take the boat but with permission from the owner to get it ready for new gel. Was fishy tho. bow rail still on, exahust tips, full fills. Things that come off with new gel.

My buddy was pissed cause the cops could not do anything. He did more investigating on his own and gave the cops tons of info.

My buddy just posted this on Facebook this morning......

"So me and Amber just got some great news.. Please share and repost to any boating forum. . Boat racing. .. Boat repair. .. anybody
Mr Randy Letcher of Jet boats plus in Lake Havasu, Arizona.. was served numerous search warrants at his shops and spot at Lost Lake Resort. .. an estimated half a million dollars in boats. . Parts. .. trailers. . Even a 5th wheel have been recovered as stolen property !!!!
Currently the piece of shit has a new residence at the Grey bar motel in Mohave County. .. He's facing about 20 felony counts in both States Arizona and California!!!!!!
WE HOPE YOU HAVE FUN IN YOUR NEW ENDEAVORS. .. THANKS TO A LITTLE PERSISTENCE AND NO INSURANCE. .. YOU MADE US LOOK REAL HARD AND UNCOVER SOMETHING HUGE. .. SPECIAL THANKS TO RIVERSIDE SHERRIFS...
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST
FUCK YOU RANDY LETCHER AND JET BOATS PLUS
HAVE A NICE DAY DOUCHE!!"

Nice ending to a crappy deal.

That's a shit ton of jet boat parts... I wonder how they can evaluate which ones are stolen vs not? As in those generic valve covers over there? That impeller over here? Not like there's serial numbers on this stuff?

Hate to say it but it will take 3 years for him to plea-bargain a 6 year sentence and then he'll walk at 2 due to non violent offense overcrowding. Criminals have all the rights now a days. Bull chit. This guy should burn.

It dounds like a lot, but it isn't. A new pump is 3500, new motor is easy 5000 for a stock 454. Add in headers, carb and mounting hardware, its a easy 12 plus labor. 15 would not be shocking. Throw another 5 fir every thing else. Thats inly 25 boats. 1 stolen bad ass boat could be 50k to just replace the rigging, let alone boat and trailer. The last boat show I was at had an eliminator 21' with 500ish husky for 70k.

And, the estimated street value is always the highest prices msrp they can find. 500k to them is probably more like 200k in the real world.

Wow i feel lucky as i almost took my boat there.

Thanks to his repeated promises to return my calls and never did, I took RDs advice and headed over to Absolute. That almost beats a winning lottery ticket

I didn't know they were crooks, but knew they were totally incompetent. Took over a year to rebuild a friends pump, and they looked him in the eye two different times and told him it was right this time, had a massive vibration that no one could miss, finally fixed on third try. Also screwed up the steering, were running full tilt and find out it only turns right, cable not installed correctly. I doubt any of the part were stolen however, because my friend bought all the parts, because they had no credit and people wouldn't sell to them.:thumbsdown

I would like to know who he was dealing with in Ft. Mohave. Has to be a larger network with that many parts.

You may be right, this was stolen close to my storage unit.

That is one of my old shop trucks. Sold it to a guy in Bullhead a few years ago. It dropped a timing chain (2003) so I built a nice balanced 454, T-400 with 4.10's. I know it's the same truck because of the '16.5 X 12' wheels and the fact that it's a 1976 with gas doors I grafted into the bed sides, back in 1984. (they are a little low, into the top of trim) Too bad it was stolen, it was a great truck. Just shows that we can never be too careful protecting our stuff.

If the "worthless" jet boat parts are not enough to put him away, the multible boat hulls with altered HIN numbers should do it.

THANKS, just using hyper-eutectic pistons (KB 8.2 static, 87 fuel) shot peened 3/8 rods (with AARP bolts), a zero grind cast crank, along with some nice 049 (or 721 ?) heads (mild work), that motor was balanced and went together very nicely. I put the non-egr intake back on it with a 6210 Holley spread bore, along with the 2 1/2" factory dual exhaust. After putting 10 miles on it, I ran her up to 5600 RPMs just to see what it had. Everything worked well together, good power under load, and good mileage cruising. (well it has 4.10's) the guy that bought it was going to do a rebuild and paint, and I see that in his photos. It is a great 'short run' truck because it has no overdrive, but it was/is a monster tow/launch/around town bad ass. Very sorry to see that this great truck was stolen, feeling bad for the guy who owned it.

Havasu boat chop shop had ties to Blythe

"BLYTHE, Calif. - During a stolen jet boat investigation by a Riverside County Sheriff's Department Colorado River Station deputy Feb. 25, the deputy learned that the missing boat's parts were recovered at Jet Boats Plus in Lake Havasu City, Ariz. Other boat parts were found abandoned in Fort Mohave, Ariz.

The boat had been reported stolen from McIntyre Park and the Colorado River Station detective, which is where the Blythe investigation started. Upon learning that the boat parts had been recovered upriver, a local detective assigned to the case began working together with a Lake Havasu City Police Department detective (LHCPD).

As the joint investigation progressed, leads led them to Jet Boats Plus, which was possibly operating as a boat chop shop with significant ties to Blythe.

A follow-up investigation by the local sheriff's detectives confirmed that Jet Boats Plus owner and operator Randolph Letcher, Jr., 41, had property he rented at Lost Lake Resort in the River Communities area, north of Blythe. Detectives got a search warrant for the location and although no one was home, subsequently recovered a stolen jet boat, the boat's trailer, and a stolen fifth wheel trailer.

The same evening, detectives from LHCPD also got and served search warrants for Letcher's residence and business. Several boats with altered hull identification numbers, a stolen travel trailer, a stolen boat engine, miscellaneous boat parts, suspected methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia were seized at the business.

LHCPD detectives arrested Letcher and charged him with conducting a boat chop shop, possession of stolen property, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. LHCPD detective booked Letcher into the custody of Mohave County Sheriff's Office.

The value of the recovered stolen property from both jurisdictions is believed to be up to $500,000. A large amount of this property still needs to be identified and linked to its owners.

Colorado River Station detectives will forward its case to the Riverside County District Attorney's Office requesting that multiple counts of vehicle theft and possession of stolen property be filed against Letcher and arrest warrants be issued for him.

This case is ongoing and citizens with information about the Colorado River Station cases are urged to contact Detective Matt Koser at 760-921-7900."
