But would this really be a good fit for Havasu?

new hotel owners for Edgewater, Colorado Belle, Aquarius phased it out …… Riverside is all in for the run along with a couple others so something will be going on

The run has gone down hill over the years... Other than the strip and Hotels there is really great destinations to ride to. I don't think Havasu would be the "place' to be for this either...

They are trying to put on this Event April 23-26th https://www.eventbrite.com/e/west-c...3JTeraWIBNfgRQFEURoipv5ucI8cYG3aMo6ZS349JF8yA

The West Coast Rendezvous is "where old school meets the wild west"... Held at the Saddle Sore Ranch campground off of Route 66, just east of Oatman, AZ., and past the stretch of road known as the ‘Mohave Rattlesnake’ with 222 curves in 10 miles. The West Coast Rendezvous encompasses activities and venues that stretch between the Saddle Sore Ranch and Oatman, AZ.

It’s an old school/wild west feel. Onsite camping with tent and rv spots available, but as they say at the Ranch, "Our only hook ups are between consenting adults". Bands, nightly “adult” campfire parties, biker rodeo games, flat track racing, swap meet, the "World's largest outdoor stripper pole" and more. It’s basically a place where you can come let loose with a bunch of like-minded old school bikers. Do whatever you want, as long as you obey their only rule: Respect EVERYONE.

The West Coast Rendezvous is most known for being the final destination for the nationwide, nationally acclaimed “Blue Collar Build Off” competition. The weekend event also hosts a ride-in chopper and vintage bike show dubbed the “Rusty Nuts” show. There are usually a handful of select vendors, but don’t expect any corporate big rigs, or $20 corn dogs. Some will go on a big group ride in the mornings to some kool area spots, then head back to the ranch in the afternoon and start preparing for the nights campfire party with bands, outdoor movies, etc... Those that didn’t go on the group ride can go on their own ride, or hang out at the ranch where they have games, activities, horseshoes, bbq grills, flat track and more.

For those that just want to use the ranch as a basecamp, there is lots of great riding in the area. Route 66, the Grand Canyon, the Hoover Dam, Mohave Rattlesnake, Hualapai Mountain and more… If you are so inclined, the proximity to Laughlin makes it ideal for a quick ride over the mountain to grab tshirts or catch one of their concerts. More info can be found at WestCoastRendezvous.com

The west coast rattlesnake? Are they referring to 66 going the back way out of oatman to kingman? 200 plus curves? pretty sure that’s a marketing angle.

This will be interesting to see if havasu develops an event. It’s really the only thing they don’t cater to during the year, all other bases are covered, boating events, hot rod events, etc. If done right it could be awesome if done wrong it would be going down a road that havasu might regret, ie who decides to show up.

I was done years ago when I witnessed the cops throw some kid to the ground and cuff him for yelling at a girl riding by to show her tits. Went to an event the following year dubbed the " Piss on Laughlin Run". It included stuff in Parker and Havasu.

I see a bike run much like a Mini Truck run. Lots of beer sold, and pissed off cops...
Damn I'm getting old, loved Endless Summer and "Reso" 20+ years ago...

As i agree about the run. I disagree to the destinations. We run from the strip to oatman, kingman, havasu, Topock and breakfast all the way to seligman.

REALLY? The "OLD PEOPLE" who run the town would have a Shit Fit and put a kabosh to that. Damn they even got the verticle advertising banners removed. I'm betting that it goes No Where.o_O

Long ago we went when the town didn't raise rates or gouge people.
Then our group started the Cambria alternate run when Laughlin got too selfish.

From the Kingman paper Run not dead yet
While the details and official name are still in the works, Laughlin River Run may see its 38th year after all.

When the event’s original promoter, Dal-Con Promotions, “failed to communicate,” the Laughlin Tourism Commission “accepted the responsibility to communicate something instead of nothing,” Laughlin Chamber of Commerce President Jackie Mazzeo said.

Dal-Con Promotions has been listed as “permanently closed” online, and all phone calls made to the company have gone unanswered.

In the absence of the event’s organizer, the Laughlin River Run’s future was left in the dark and removed from the Chamber’s event calendar earlier this month.

But as far as Mazzeo is concerned, the event is still expected to host thousands of riders April 23-25.

It won’t be officially titled as the 38th Annual Laughlin River Run until the trademark transfer and cost from the Las Vegas Metro Police Department are confirmed, but that was in the works as of Thursday afternoon, she said.

Exhibitors are being accepted and can sign up by visiting laughlinriverrun.com and clicking “Vendor Sign Up.”

“The Laughlin River Run Facebook page will be updated as soon as the legal documents have been completed,” Mazzeo said. Rooms are also being sold at local resorts, according to Mazzeo.

No further information could be provided at this time by Mazzeo, as she is awaiting direction by the Chamber and Tourism Commission governing boards before making any official statements, she said.
