Tricia was my occasional golf partner along with her hubby Randy and she'd been cutting my hair for years.
I truely miss her alot, her infectous laugh and sparkling attitude.
RIP Tricia.

We attended a funeral in Sac yesterday for a 68 year old victim of this terrible disease, in the very same church where we attended one 18 months ago for her beautiful 44 year old daughter. I was very close to this family during my teen years, and consider the two brothers who remain family.
Rest in Peace, Tricia; it is clear your loved ones are honoring your memory.

On December 17, 2007 I lost my sister to breast cancer. Tricia was 39 years old and one of the cool people on the planet. She was a board member of the NWFAF (Nicholas Woods Friedrich's Ataxia Foundation). Nick Woods is the son of a dear friend of hers who suffers from Friedrich's Ataxia disease. She played an active role in the annual golf tournament, as a matter of fact she busted her ass to make this event successful. This year the golf tournament will be on held on Friday May 9, 2008 at Twin Oaks golf coarse in San Marcos. I would like to personally invite you to come out and play some golf, drink some beers and enjoy the day with us for a good cause and in memory of my sister. Here is a copy of the event brochure and a link to the foundations website www.nwfaf.org

Sorry SIR..my mother died of cancer 2/20/2003....I understand. It was hard to view the attachments. Could you pm or email the applications? My company likes to play golf and drink. I always support the cancer fund raisers. tharmon@decengineers.com

Dealing with the loss of a sibling or parent is the worst. My sister is expecting in May, so I don't know if I will be able to attend. Maybe the boys in the RR thread will like to pony up and play again. If I can swing it, I will. :)

Sorry for your loss. I person once told me, " In time we heal". I felt completely empty and lost after I lost my father. A day doesn't go by that I don't think of dad, but the person who gave me this advice was right :)

I'll send you the info:

This tournament does not fund cancer research it is a fundraiser for the Nicholas Woods foundation. Nick was a healthy young man until around the age of 10 when the signs of the Friedreich's Ataxia disease began. I believe that he is around 20 years old right now, and the disease has progressed to the level where he is in a wheelchair full time. for more information you can check out his foundation website. www.nwfaf.org

This was a cause near and dear to Tricia, one she chose to be involved with.

If there is a group of people on here interested in playing I'll see if RD will authorize the use of RDP logo and have some cool golf shirts made for us. Oh shit I can only imagine the RDP golf team:eek:

That is alright...I like to support these kinds of events. Don't get me wrong but throw golf and booze together and my company is a sponsor! After holding my mothers hand when she passed I am all for research, no matter what the ailment is.

I am so sorry to hear about your sister. My grandmother died of breast cancer at the age of 47 and my mother died of cancer at the age of 48. I refuse to continue my family's legacy. Cancer is the plague of our era and we need to do everything we can to fight it.

To lose someone to this terrible disease especially older family members is tragic enough, but to lose a sister who is so young would be totally gut wrenching.

My prayers are with you and your loved ones, god bless.

Whiteworks, I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. There's nothing worse than losing an immediate family member. I'm not a golfer but wish you all the success in the world with the event. Hang in there. :)

If you want to use it, have at it. I would think a "In memory of" shirt would probably be better though? :)

that actually watered my eyes Tbone.. (I'm serious).

My family is going through some of these hard times as well right now. I typically put up most of my personal life on the board, but with regards to this for some reason I feel it best not too.
