I pit for a guy in DP4, everyone I have meet at all the races are super friendly, like family. And the organizers are all solid folks as well. The night races are way crazy, can't believe they go full throttle at night like they do. Good times.This one is pretty popular. I think we have an inmate or two involved.
My bro in law races when he has the time.

OK serious question. Some talk about the Can Am, Pro R, Pro, etc etc. Since we have no real world info on the speed car yet which car would you put as the #1, #2 front runners for a 4 seater that is almost bone stock or with some minor work with good power, street able, capable of speeds above 65mph just in case it is needed, handling both street and some rough terrain off road purposes, possibly desert wash stuff as well, and maybe once in a great while dunes. So many to choose from so many options have absolutely no clue which way to choose. Then to top if off I see the Defender all closed in, heater, air, very little dirt when messing around and the best part is the wife would love it...

The can am platform has not changed in 5 years? They have made changes, like thicker tubing and tabs. Better digital dash, and more. But it more or less the same. Not a 'new' design.
The pro R is not as fast due to weights, but its pretty amazing. You don't need to go 80 in the desert.
If I was buying today ploaris.
If I'm buying next year, can am. They have something on the way.
But, that Pro R will cost you 20k more? Maybe less.
You can get a extremely nice loaded with accessories can am for the same OTD pro R.
With all that said, my 2019 can am surprises me every time I drive it. These things are crazy fun

So if the 2552lb number is correct and Polaris specs of the Pro R 4 seater at 2480lb is correct they are pretty damn close on weight! It will be interesting to see a drag race stock vs stock. The Canam 4 seater is actually faster than the Pro R once they get going on a straight from what I have seen, but when they get in the bumps the Pro R just says goodbye.
I just got my car back from SDG so i'm excited to see how much better it works now too! Hopefully some of my friends get their Speed cars so we can have some real head to head tests!

I read and got this on another forum. Polaris spent 3 years developing the Pro R models, and then had a one year delay due to Covid as they could not get parts. So it took Polaris 4 years to release the Pro models and the company, manufacturing, suppliers and assembly lines were all ready established. Plus they use parts & pieces from previous models, so not everything is brand new.
Robby partnered with Arctic Cat in 2015 and the XX was not released until 2018. That’s 3 years and like Polaris have established manufacturing, suppliers & assembly. Both Polaris and Arctic Cat also use outside company’s like Team, Fox, Maxxis to design and build major parts for them. Arctic Cat also used Yamaha for engines too.
Speed is a new company that good or bad has chose to build & design everything in-house instead of outsourcing like the other brands do. They are now in year 3 which is how long it took Polaris & Arctic Car to design and release their cars. Maybe it just seems like it’s taking longer because we heard about it and they took deposits on day 1. Where as the others you don’t know how long they are taking.
Id guess Can Am has been working on there next X3 for as long as Polaris worked on the Pro R. I think it’s going to be better then both the Pro R & Speed as Can Am has always been the leader in hp and wheel travel.

Me too I would’ve never bought one if I hadn’t seen what I saw and know what I know from a fabrication standpoint I’m doing most of my own work. what they started off in 2019 would not have interested me at all. I’m coming up in February for my one year deposit anniversary. Diablo 3200 and something.Most manufacturers don’t share the R&D process either? I rather enjoyed watching it come to life. It’s a shame that this transparency went negative in terms of marketing.. I do blame some of Robbie’s attitude toward other mfg’s for that though

The Canam and the Turbo S were really close, I liked the wheelbase of the Canam better and the bigger cab and the HP was nice. The turbo S was just built "better" from the factory but it wasnt as fast as the canam. The Pro R blows both of the built cars out of the water STOCK. There is nothing even close thats out there right now that you can go buy tomorrow. If you get the Fox live valve shocks you can change the mode to street driving where it lowers it a bit and adds compression so less body roll on the street, then you can goto Baja mode when ya get back in the dirt. Put 35s on it as soon as you get it as its basically made for it. Its hands down the best option out there right now.
I am excited to see the Speed UTV in customers hands and see how they stack up, they have a very tall tower to climb to be with the Pro R, I do think the new Canam coming out will be a good car also.

I do love the Pro R. It does everything I need it to do. When I need more I strap on a parachute and really get serious.This Can Am is pretty damn clean. I’d have a tough time not jumping on a Pro R though. Bully’s is just plain badass.

I think I could sell both my low numbers for just what it would cost today to build them and sell them pretty quick. I’d make about 13k per.. so 26 total.

I think that once the 12 cars get in customers hands in mid January then it will really set the price for spots in the near future. If the speed UTV lives up to the hype then spots will have value. If there are little issues with the car I think spot prices will dip until the car gets sorted out. If they have major issues then I think prices will tank. I also think if Robby misses this January delivery date and doesn't deliver those 12 cars until late Feb or March prices will start to fall. I also think that cars over #100 won't be out for 6+ months from now, so people may get fed up if there number is high. I don't see them jumping into full production anytime soon. I think cars will slowly trickle out for a while.
How many spots did they sell? Seems like it will take years to fulfill all the orders. If that’s the case there will never be any for sale and or at dealers to purchase. Good for owners of cars value wise. They will be able to ask whatever they want for their unicorns, not too much different from owning a modern Schiada.

A friend of ours had one on order with the bare minimum down.
